Fire-resistant glass-framed panel door

Thank to the Engineering Office research, Wittur offers a good many fire resistant landing doors certifications according to EN81-58 standard.

Glass-framed fire-resistant besides having all fire resistance features for the fire-rated doors, are provided with the same aesthetic characteristics of the traditional glass-framed doors enabling solutions at safety top level, innovation and design.

Fire resistant door

The fire resistant lift landing doors are the most diffused in Europe and in the world.
Their essential feature is to satisfy the fire resistance requirements of the fireproof rules for the buildings.

In 2003, after the introduction of the new norms EN81-58, in Europe it was found a meeting point on the type of tests to be applied to the prototypes of landing door.
This has allowed to eliminate the differences in specifications of doors determined by local fire authorities, which are generally different from country to country.

Three classes of resistance are available:
  • Class "E" (fire resistant doors)
  • Class "EW" (fire resistant doors with limited irradiation)
  • Class "EI" (fire-cutting doors)

Compared to the old tests, the fire resistent doors class "E" have the follow features:
  • Sheet 15/10 thickness instead of 18/10
  • Possible execution without thermo-expanding gaskets
  • Possible execution without top and rabbet side labyrinth

  • Sheet 15/10 thickness
  • Possible execution without thermo-expanding gaskets
  • Possible execution without top and rabbet side labyrinth
  • Doors always in cladded execution  (it's necessary a double coat both in case of covering in stainless steel and mild steel)

Door according to DIN 18091 norms

The fire resistant landing doors according to DIN 18091 standard are mainly produced for the German market and for all the countries where these standards are accepted.

Indipendentently from the series and type of the doorset, are certified landing doors having a maximum clear opening and height dimensions of 2500 mm and contemporarily being fitted in a wall opening not exceeding 2800 mm as maximum width and 2650 mm as maximum height.

Main technical features:
  • Panel is always double-plated
  • Top frame is always double-plated
  • Side frames must be double-plated only in case of width exceeding 150 mm
  • Panels with glass window (feasible dimensions of the void are 100x600 mm and 100x300 mm, with wired or trasparent glass type, glass not flush, minimum 6 mm thickness
  • Glass panel and glass-framed panel are not available
  • Panels and frames in load-bearing stainless steel (on demand)
  • Tubular frames (on demand)
  • Frames flush with the floor (on demand)
  • Side frames and top frame with variable dimensionds (depth from 20 to 80 mm)

Angular or tubular frames

Special frames

These particular types of frames are designed to simplify the modernization of existing lifts.

Their shape allows them to be installed in narrow spaces or to be hidden by architectural decorations. Furthermore, their application on existing shafts is easier, since they can be fastened with standard screw anchors only.

Explosionproof installations

A mechanism or operator in explosionproof execution is able to avoid the triggering of sparks, according to 1127:1997 standards.

In case of explosionproof installations, both mechanism and operator must be treated with cataphoresis and standard galvanization except for some mechanical components that have to be always in stainless steel (cables, nuts and bolts, guides, spacer guides...).

The electrical components (motor and contacts) must be in explosionproof execution, too.

IP54 installations

The installations in IP54 execution are the ideal solutions in case of exposure to humidity, to the inclemency of the weather and to other environmental conditions particularly difficult (for example proximity to the sea or in the presence of highly corrosive agents).

The particular environmental conditions make it necessary to use all the components in stainless steel, beginning from the hanger.
So, as well as provide resistance to the explosion, you get additional protection to corrosion.

The components not feasible in stainless steel will be painted with polyester powder for outdoor RAL.
The lock will be in IP54 execution thank to the application of a safety contact on the standard lock. This allows you to remove all the seals subjected to aging.
